Rethinking spaces to make them more functional and aesthetically pleasing, playing with materials and colors to create unique large-scale decor—this is the mission of Cécile Gonnard’s new studio, aptly named “Revoir la mer.”
After earning a degree in fine arts, Cécile Gonnard began working for herself at the age of twenty-five. Between creating tableware objects and freelance assignments to showcase collections at trade shows, she worked part-time for eight years with the Danish furniture brand BoConcept, focusing on store design and client consulting. By founding the brand “Héritage Studio” (sold in 2021), she developed highly sensitive collections of furniture and textiles made in France, collaborating with, among others, Mama Shelter, MyLittle Paris, Sézanne, and Le Bon Marché. With the recent establishment of her studio “Revoir la mer,” she is reintegrating artistic practice and the creation of unique decor into her work. We met with her to explore this growing desire for decoration where the human touch makes all the difference.
